Simple Explanation
Plant cells have three extra structures that animal cells don't: a rigid cell wall outside the cell membrane for support, a large central vacuole that stores water and keeps the cell firm, and chloroplasts that capture sunlight to make food through photosynthesis.
Why Do We Need It?
These three additions are exactly what a plant cell needs to do things an animal cell doesn't: stay rigid without a skeleton, store enough water to survive dry spells, and make its own food from sunlight.
